The Wellington Phoenix suffered their first defeat of football's A-League season when they went down 3-1 to Adelaide United in Adelaide on Saturday night.
The Phoenix scored first with a Stein Huysegems goal and led 1-0 at halftime but Adelaide scored three second-half goals to take all the points and go to the top of the table. The Phoenix are fourth.
Phoenix defender Ben Sigmund was red-carded in the 77th minute.
