A 54-year-old man been charged over the death of a hunter in south Wairarapa.
Christopher Dummer appeared at Wellington District Coury on Friday and was charged with careless use of a firearm causing death.
The charge follows the fatal shooting of Alexander Cameron (Cam) McDonald, 29, while hunting in Aorangi Forest Park on 7 April.
Judge Oke Blaikie remanded Mr Dummer on bail to re-appear in court later this month.
He ordered Mr Dummer to hand in all his firearms and firearms licences to the police, and ordered him not to apply for travel documents.
