Lawyer says client frustrated by lengthy remand

The lawyer for the leader of the Killer Beez gang says his client is frustrated after being kept in jail for more than four years on remand.

Josh Masters was arrested in May 2008 and pleaded guilty to four charges, including supplying methamphetamine and money laundering, in 2010.

He will be sentenced in July, following the end of a disputed facts hearing on Monday.

Lawyer Ron Mansfield says Mr Masters is frustrated at the delay in getting sentenced, but he does not blame anyone.

He says Mr Masters spent time trying to reverse his plea and get a judge-only trial, but has not deliberately tried to remain on remand.
