Auckland port talks resume

12:15 pm on 21 May 2012

The Ports of Auckland and the Maritime Union go back into talks on Monday afternoon.

Two months ago the company laid out plans to make about 300 union members redundant, but has since put the proposal on hold.

Facilitation was requested by both parties after nine strikes and more than 20 meetings.

The process is a type of formal mediation, during which the Employment Relation Authority can make non-binding recommendations.
