Police are warning people not to confront intruders after an incident on Sunday morning in which a man was stabbed outside his house in Hamilton.
He was smoking outside his property in Saxbys Road in the early hours of Sunday morning, when he was confronted by a person who stabbed him in the abdomen and slashed his arm with a knife.
He has serious but not life threatening injuries.
Police say the offender ran off.
They say people should not confront offenders but should get to a safe place and call 111.
