Party leader, Winston Peters, has made the announcement to about 300 supporters at the party's election campaign launch in Kelston, Auckland.

Mr Peters said the Government would kick in with the first $1000 in savings, and money in the account could be used for tertiary education fees.

He said extending the KiwiSaver scheme would teach young people how to save and help change New Zealand to a savings culture.

Mr Peters said he was promising policies that looked after the baby just born, the worker, the elderly, and the business wanting a fair deal during the campaign.

He also pledged that opposing foreign ownership will be a major theme in New Zealand First's election campaign.

Mr Peters said New Zealand First will set up a register for land ownership to know who owns what and where.

Mr Peters also pledged to ban all gangs and start a pedophile register.
