New Zealand's Rugby Sevens team led the medal charge in Delhi on Tuesday, winning the third gold medal for the country at the Commonwealth Games.
The New Zealanders beat Australia 24-17 in the final at Delhi University grounds on Tuesday.
New Zealand remains the only team to have won the Commonwealth title since Sevens Rugby entered the Commonwealth Games in 1998.
New Zealanders picked up more medals in the athletics competition at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
In the men's javelin, Stuart Farquhar won silver with a distance of 78.15 metres, but threw seven metres below his personal best.
Farquhar revealed that a heel injury affected his performance and though he did not blame the injury for not winning gold, he says it did affect his run-up and throwing technique.
Middle distance runner Nick Willis was unable to defend his 1500m title and had to settle for bronze.
Willis finished behind Kenyans Silas Kiplagat and James Magut, who sprinted away from the field in the closing stages.
The New Zealander recorded a time of 3 minutes 42.38 seconds and was happy with his effort after a disrupted and limited season following a knee operation.
However, he admits he never had the speed to be a real contender for gold.
Adrian Blincoe finished 10th in the race.
New Zealand finished with eight medals in track and field, including gold for shot putter Valerie Adams, five silver and two bronze medals.
New Zealand's medal tally stands at 28 medals, including three golds on Tuesday.
