The New Zealand's men's archery team were in third place after the 72-shot round on Monday, putting them in a strong position for the rest of the week.

Steve Clifton shot 702 out of a possible 720, the day's third best individual total.

Shaun Teasdale was below his best, but still managed 699 and Tony Waddick shot 694, a 13-point personal best.

The points count towards both the individual and teams events.

In contrast, the women team didn't find their best form. Stephanie Croskery's 679 was the 12th highest score, while Mandy McGregor on 671 and Anne Mitchell on 655 were further down the field.
