There are 1793 new community cases of Covid-19 today, the Ministry of Health says.

There are 260 in hospital including five in ICU, and a further six Covid-19 deaths have been reported.

Cases and hospitalisations are at the "lowest levels we've seen since February this year," Ministry of Health Deputy Director-General Dr Andrew Old said in a media briefing at Middlemore Hospital.

The latest evidence shows "real and sustained evidence of Covid-19 declining in our community".

Yesterday, 2035 community cases were reported.
