In today's 1pm Covid-19 press conference, Dr Bloomfield said home isolation was being used as an interim approach.

There are 572 cases and close contacts now self-isolating at home, he said.

Bloomfield said the people self-isolating have support from health case services.

"There is a range of criteria ... to assess if people can safely isolate at home."

Feedback on home isolation had been positive so far, he said.
