A doctor who also works as a farmer has taken home a major dairy industry award with husband.

Bridget and Hayden Goble were announced as Share Farmer of the Year award at the Dairy Industry Awards in Auckland last night.

The couple from New Plymouth impressed the judges with the strength of their partnership.

Dr Goble said it has been amazing to have her family's work held in such high regard within the industry.

She said despite her medical work, she contributes as much as can to the family farm.

"It's pretty overwhelming, to be honest.

"We're pretty stoked. We just went into this award trying to do our best and put our best foot forward.

"We felt like we've won already, we've had an amazing week in Auckland, with lots of inspirational people from the industry."

Also at the awards, DairyNZ's Chief Executive, Tim Mackle, was honoured for Services to the Dairy Industry.
