Mosque attack: Man to defend himself over 'Target Acquired' image

An 18-year-old charged with making a photo showing the Al Noor Mosque and the words 'Target Acquired' is to defend himself in court.

The man, who has name suppression, appeared in Christchurch District Court today via video link from prison.

He was arrested following the mosque shootings more than three weeks ago.

He faces one charge of re-posting on Facebook the livestreamed video of the shooting, and another of making the 'Target Acquired' image and inciting extreme violence.

He has elected trial by jury and was remanded in custody for a bail review hearing on 15 April.
