Internet New Zealand is providing $40,000 to enable video conferencing between Christchurch schools.
The funding will cover costs for six months, allowing schools in the earthquake-hit city to share resources virtually and face-to-face.
Riccarton High School principal Phil Holstein says the service offers the opportunity for schools to truly support each other as they rebuild their learning networks.
Internet New Zealand chief executive Vikram Kumar says its members are trying to do their best for the recovery of Canterbury.
Mr Kumar says the organisation plans to announce further steps to support the region in the next few weeks.
