A magnitude 4.7 earthquake has been felt in Christchurch.
Geonet says the quake occurred at 1.30pm on Wednesday. It was 11km deep and centred 20km south-west of the city.
It followed a magnitude 4.0 quake at 1.15pm which was centred within 5km of Lyttelton at a depth of 5km.
There are no reports of damage.
