A campaign has been launched to remind earthquake-affected residents of the good things about Christchurch.

The Love Christchurch campaign includes billboards, newspaper advertisements and bus signage, with the aim of lifting spirits through messages of hope and encouragement.

The organiser, Renee Walker, says donations and discounted services have kept the cost of the promotion at about $250,000, around half what could be expected.

She says morale plummeted after the 13 June aftershocks.

Ms Walker hopes the campaign will remind people about the good things about Christchurch such as the parks, the beaches and the community spirit.
