A further 62 Christchurch buildings have been confirmed as having to be partially or fully demolished, with many needing to come down urgently.

They join 589 buildings already listed by Civil Defence or the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority, for full or partial demolition.

On top of the 62 buildings added to the list of those that need full or partial demolition, are another 10 that need work to make them safe.

Of the 72 buildings on the lists, 51 need to be demolished and 11 require partial demolition.

37 of the full demolitions, and nine of the partial demolitions, have to be done urgently.

One of the buildings lined up for urgent demolition is the Iconic bar in Manchester Street, where 22-year-old Jaime Gilbert died during the 22 February earthquake.
