An Auckland transport company owner is organising simultaneous haka events in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin next week to show support for the people of Christchurch.
Waatea News reports the super haka has the backing of the Ngai Tahu runanga.
Peter King from Super Shuttle says he wants people to get together to perform the Ngai Tahu haka - ''Otautahi, Maraka! Maraka!'' (''Christchurch Rise Up! Rise Up!'') - to help lift people's spirits.
''It's going to .. leverage their sense of pride and inspire the people of Christchurch .. to rebuild their beautiful city," he said.
The haka is to take place at lunchtime next Thursday.
