New Zealanders overseas are preparing for several major memorial services to remember the victims of the Christchurch earthquake.

This country's High Commission and various other community groups have helped to organise a service at London's Westminster Abbey which will begin at midnight on Sunday New Zealand time.

More than 2500 tickets have been balloted for people to attend.

The Prince of Wales is also expected to attend.

The service will be the second to be held in London to remember the victims of the 6.3 magnitude quake in February.

In Australia, Sydney musicians put on a classical music and opera show at St James Anglican Church on Sunday evening.
