Tickets to Crusaders' quake fundraiser selling fast

The first Super Rugby match to be held outside New Zealand, Australia or South Africa is drawing high sales.

Crusaders' chief executive Hamish Riach says about 20,000 tickets for the Crusaders versus Sharks game at Twickenham in London sold in the first 30 hours.

With $11 from each ticket going to the Christchurch earthquake recovery appeal, about $224,000 has already been raised.

Mr Riach says the high sales are a reflection of the support for victims of the Christchurch earthquake from people in Britain, including New Zealand and South African expatriates.

The match kicks off on 27 March.
