New Zealand Post says limited postal services will resume on Tuesday.
It says the extent of deliveries and mail pickups will depend on what areas are cleared by authorities, where it's safe to deliver and also staff availability.
Where postal deliveries can't be made, New Zealand Post says it will hold mail at an alternative location for pickup, if a redirection is not in place.
Details of pickup sites will be announced on Tuesday.
