Police in Christchurch say they are happy with behaviour at the Band Together concert in Hagley Park on Saturday.

An estimated 130,000 people attended the event which was billed as the biggest free concert ever in New Zealand.

Thirty four New Zealand acts were featured, including Dave Dobbyn and the Exponents.

The concert was held as a morale booster following the magnitude 7.1 earthquake in Canterbury on 4 September.

Police say about a dozen arrests were made at the concert, far fewer than expected.
