An Ombudsman's report into the way the Ministry of Education conducted its consultation over the restructuring of Christchurch schools is expected to be published by the end of the year..
What the ministry calls rejuvenation of the city's schools, has so far involved closing seven primary and intermediate schools and merging three primary schools.
Chief Ombudsman Dame Beverley Wakem says she will accept submissions until 9 August as part of her investigation and school staff will be interviewed at the end of August.
She says after this a provisional report will be completed before the final report is released towards the end of the year.
Dame Beverley says this will assess whether the consultation processes have been conducted in a manner that ensures fair and meaningful participation by everyone.
The Ministry of Education has been criticised for getting the names of schools wrong and identifying a long jump pit as evidence of liquefaction.
