Family and friends of people killed at a private language school in the February earthquake have remembered them at a service on Thursday.
About 100 people gathered at Latimer Square in memory of the 72 students and nine staff of King's Education who died when the CTV building collapsed on 22 February 2011.
Members of King's Education, Christchurch mayor Bob Parker and family members spoke at the ceremony before the names of the deceased were read out, followed by a minute's silence.
A memorial tree and plaque were unveiled at the site.
The square is near the CTV building and where a public service will be held on Friday to mark the second anniversary of the 6.3-magnitude quake which claimed 185 lives.
