A2 eyes Asian market

7:32 am on 22 February 2012

Speciality milk company A2 Corporation hopes to enter the Asian market by launching a new infant milk formula.

The listed company more than tripled its half year profit to $3.1 million in the final six months of 2011, driven by increased sales in Australia.

But it is also looking further afield for new markets.

Chief executive Geoff Babidge says the company has previously explored opportunities for liquid milk in Asia, but planning is now much more advanced for the launch of infant formula.

Shares in A2 Corporation, which are listed on the NZX's alternative market, rose 1 cent to 26 cents on Tuesday.
