Share market rises, Summerset lists

The New Zealand share market was flat today with the benchmark NZX50 index closing up just two points at 3332.

Shares in the retirement village operator Summerset Group listed on the stock exchange at $1.40 and closed at $1.41.

Among the leaders, Telecom rose 3.5 cents to $2.57, Fletcher Building fell one cent to $6.64 and Contact Energy rose eight cents to $5.68.

Briscoe Group rose six cents to $1.46 after its third-quarter sales rose 9.2 percent to $98 million.

Ryman Healthcare fell five cents to $2.66 after securing its first site in Australia for an undisclosed sum.

Sky City Entertainment fell five cents at $3.49 and Sky Network TV was unchanged at $5.50.

Air New Zealand was also unchanged at $1.05, while Auckland Airport rose 0.5 cents to $2.35.5.

Nuplex was unchanged at $2.61 and Vector fell a cent to $2.58.

The Warehouse fell three cents to $3.34 after it announced it was teaming up with insurer Sovereign to offer life insurance online.

In currency markets, the NZ dollar was at 80.8 US cents, 77.06 Australian cents, 50.27 pence, 63.15 yen, and 0.5838 euro.

The trade-weighted index was 70.38.
