The benchmark NZX50 index fell two points, or 0.1%, to close at 3307 on Thursday on turnover of $123 million.
Fletcher Building fell 1c to $7.45 while Telecom and Contact Energy both rose 4c, to $2.64 and $5.52 respectively.
Sky City Entertainment was unchanged at $3.52, Sky Network Television down 5c at $5.25 and Auckland International Airport down 1c at $2.25.
Fisher and Paykel Healthcare gained 8c to $2.38 and the Warehouse 1c to $3.26, while New Zealand Oil and gas dropped 1c to 66c.
Kathmandu slipped 6c to $2.14 after reporting a profit of $39.1 million in the year to the end of July, compared with $9.4 million in the previous year, when it also incurred $16 million in share float costs.
Restaurant Brands lost 10c to close at $2.10 after reporting on Wednesday that its September quarterly sales had fallen by 6.5%.
Nuplex was down 5c to $2.97 and Vital Healthcare up 3c to $1.16.
In currency markets, the NZ dollar was at 79.82 US, 79.66 Australian, 51.62 pence, 61.26 yen and 0.5892 euro, with the TWI at 70.62.
