Barfoot & Thompson says the average weekly rent for Auckland homes and units fell $7 to $420 in June.
The figure is based on 707 new rental agreements, compared with 704 in May.
Barfoot & Thompson says it is still the third highest rent on record and is $17 higher than in June last year and $32 higher than two years ago.
Managing director Peter Thompson says average weekly rents are extremely volatile in a market where demand far exceeds supply.
In the last six months, he average weekly rents have ranged from a high of $434 dollars to a low of $402.
