Car registrations fell sharply in April.
New Zealand Transport Agency figures show 4000 new cars were registered last month, 30% below March and 7% lower than a year ago.
Used car registrations, which are generally imported used cars, totalled 6156 last month.
This is almost 12% lower than in March, and 13% lower than a year ago.
Toyota was the top selling make in April, followed by Ford.
