The Shareholders Association is backing a 5% pay rise for all nine Vector directors.
Hundreds of shareholders approved the pay rise at the electricity and gas company's annual meeting in Auckland on Friday.
A minority argued against the pay rise.
Association chairman John Hawkins says the increase, which is less than the rate of inflation, is reasonable.
