Jetstar is planning to start a code share partnership with American Airlines in New Zealand.
It means passengers on American Airlines flights can add New Zealand routes on to their tickets using the Qantas subsidiary.
The agreement will cover Jetstar's Australasian network, and requires regulatory approval.
