The Commerce Commission says it has decided to file proceedings against ASB bank, for breaches of the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act.
It said the action was in connection to the provision of overdrafts and debt collection overpayments.
Proceedings would be filed in the High Court in due course.
The commission said, because it was an active investigation, it could not comment further.
