Fonterra has extended the closing date for farmers wishing to buy extra shares.
The cooperative says farmers now have until 30 September to buy shares up to 120% of their milk production.
The company is announcing its 2009/10 financial results on Thursday, including the dividend which is paid on shares.
Chairman Sir Henry van der Heyden says the company wanted farmers to consider the results before making any decisions to buy extra shares.
The previous deadline had been 21 September.
