Travel booking software firm Serko has reported a bigger first half loss, but sees a brighter outlook as the industry gets back to business.
Key numbers for the six months ended 30 September compared with a year ago:
- Net loss $19.7m vs $15.2m
- Underlying profit $16.9m vs $15.2m
- Revenue $19.4m vs $9.5m
"The half-year result reflects our earlier decisions and investments to maximise opportunities during the business travel recovery and achieve new growth," chief executive Darrin Grafton said.
"We have seen continued strong demand and recovery for business travel in Australia and New Zealand."
Serko had significant cash reserves and was tightly managing investment levels with a focus on moving towards profitability and cashflow breakeven, he said.
The company confirmed its full year guidance to double last year's revenue was tracking to expectations, but warned the outlook was subject to ongoing risks including geo-political and macro-economic uncertainty and the potential resurgence of Covid-19.
