NZX says the number of share trades rose slightly in March to almost 51,000.
The stock exchange operator says this was an increase of 9% on the same period last year.
A total of $944.97 million in capital was raised during the month, mostly by Fonterra and Meridian Energy.
Trade on the NZDX, a debt securities trading market, was $141 million, an increase of 2% on the same period last year.
