The New Zealand sharemarket fell 9 points, or 0.3%, to 3101 at the close of trade on Thursday. Turnover was $71 million.
Fletcher Building gained 4 cents to close at $8 per share, Contact Energy was up 1c to $5.65, while Telecom was unchanged at $2.34.
Auckland International Airport was down 3c to $1.81, Air New Zealand fell 2c to to $1.32 , but Sky Television Network gained 4c to $4.71.
Retailer The Warehouse was 1c lower at $3.74, Hallenstein Glasson was down 2c at $3.53. Michael Hill International was unchanged at 69c after announcing an improved underlying profit.
Skellerup rose 6c to 54c after announcing its first-half profit fell by half, as the global downturn hit sales.
Mainfreight gained 10c to $5.90 despite announcing that its profit has fallen nearly 8% in the first nine months of the financial year.
