The number of job listings on the website TradeMe fell dramatically in Auckland during the September quarter, showing the impact of the city's second lockdown.

Auckland City recorded a 41 percent drop in online job listings, above the national decline of 10 percent, compared with the same period last year.
TradeMe jobs spokesperson Matt Tolich said the number of applicants for each job listing rose by 11 percent.
"Auckland did take the brunt, experiencing lockdown again. When you look in comparison to April when it was down 72 percent and in May 52 percent there were some improvements there," he said.
Tolich said overall, the national job market had a much stronger quarter than forecast, with nine out of the country's 15 regions recording an increase in job listings.
"It's great news for job hunters in the provinces that these regions are bouncing back stronger than the year prior, which is in part thanks to the many regional shovel ready projects in the pipeline and our primary sectors getting back on track."
Tolich said the stable national average salary was further proof of the market's recovery, holding reasonably steady at $62,226.
