Dairy prices have fallen in the latest global auction.

The average price was down by 1.2 percent to $US3481 a tonne.
There was a similar fall in the previous fortnightly auction.
The price of whole milk powder, a key factor in setting returns to local farmers, fell by 1 percent to $US3189 a tonne.
The volumes sold were about the same as at the previous auction.
