RNZ is to share content with the Fairfax website Stuff.

The public broadcaster will provide audio and visual material from radio programmes and the youth website The Wireless from today.

RNZ head of digital Glen Scanlon said RNZ was growing quickly online but remained focused on reaching as many New Zealanders as possible.

"We make great story-telling and we just want people to engage with it. This means recognising that we need to be where audiences are - one of those places is Stuff," he said.

Both RNZ and Fairfax have entered into other content agreements recently.

Last year, RNZ signed a deal with the website MSN and this year Fairfax began using TVNZ video content on Stuff.

RNZ's deal with Fairfax was for an initial three-month trial and the public broadcaster would receive a share of the advertising revenue.
