Methven says its spread of markets - in Australia, Britain and New Zealand - has cushioned the effect of slowing domestic sales.
Net profit at the shower and tapware designer for the six months to September rose almost 30% to $5 million.
The result benefited from extra UK tax credits of more than $NZ600,000, but it also absorbed a drop of almost 8% in sales in New Zealand.
Methven says its Australian business is a key contributor to the result, as well as the inclusion of a full six months of trading in Britain.
Managing director Rick Fala says Methven's products work well in Australia where water conservation is a big issue.
He says the company also expects a rise in renovation projects, which will help prop up sales in a softening New Zealand market.
