Fisher & Paykel Healthcare has extended its range of products for sleep disorders, to capture more of the top end of the market.
The company will introduce a new premium flow generator, which allow the collection of data during treatment that the patient's doctor can use, and two new masks, that are used for people suffering from sleep apnea.
Chief financial officer Tony Barclay says the new product enables the company compete in an area it was not previously in.
He expects growth in this particular area will be around 15% a year. The company will compete in this field with Resmed and Respironics, which was recently bought by Phillips Electronics.
Mr Barclay says sales and the company's ability to obtain funding have not suffered despite the financial turmoil and downturn in its main US market.
