Sales at The Warehouse have risen nearly 4 percent in the third quarter after a difficult six months.

The retailer said the group's sales of $635.1 million in the three months to the end of April have met expectations with solid same store sales.

The Red Sheds' sales, which account for more than half the group's revenue, rose 3.8 percent to $381.1 million.

The group's chief executive Mark Powell said third quarter sales followed a challenging first half for the retailer.

But he said the first quarter result was strong enough for the company to maintain its full year after-tax profit guidance of between $52 and $56 million.

The Warehouse Stationery's total sales rose 2.9 percent to $70.2 million in the quarter.

Noel Leeming's sales rose 5.4 percent to $154.8 million and the Torpedo7 Group sales rose 8.5 percent to $30.6 million.
