One of Auckland's biggest property developers is being sued in the High Court in Auckland for $7 million.

David Henderson is being sued by the liquidator of his company, Precinct Apartments, to force the payment of $7 million in outstanding GST payments to the Inland Revenue Department.

The money relates to the sale of central city apartments. The tax department says GST should have been paid, but was not.

Liquidator Bernard Montgomerie says proceedings have been filed in the High Court in Auckland to get the money repaid.

He says he is keen to settle the matter outside the overloaded court system, because a full hearing may otherwise not be possible until 2011.
