Tait Communications has won a contract to design and develop the pilot phase of an upgrade to the Vietnam traffic police radio network.
The company will deliver the initial Digital Mobile Radio system for the Vietnam Ministry of Public Security's traffic police.
Tait says the organisation plans to eventually replace the country's ageing analogue network with a private digital trunked system, resulting in greater coverage, clearer voice communications and greater security.
It says users will also be able to send small files, such as personal identification data, over the network.
