An American-based global holiday home website has snapped up a majority stake in Book-a-bach.
The holiday home rental site was created in 2000 and Automobile Association bought a 50% stake in 2007.
The Texan-based Home Away website has now acquired the AA's stake and has also bought another 5% from other Book-a-bach owners.
Home Away has the option of buying the rest of the company over the next few years.
Neither party will say how much the stake has been bought for.
