New distribution model now being used by Moa

Moa has started selling its beer under a new distribution model to address a forecast shortfall in sales.

The boutique brewer is now distributing its products directly through the liquor wholesaler Tasman Allied Liquor, and through third party logisitics providers.

On 12 August, the company warned of a 30% drop in this year's sales target of 195,000 cases - mainly due to distribution problems in New Zealand which makes up more than half Moa's total sales.

Chief executive Geoff Ross says the company has moved swiftly to build the internal resources so that it can service its customers directly.
