Mainfreight intends to take a claim against the former owner of its European business, Wim Bosman Group, over the loss of a customer.
The logistics company said it has notified Wim Bosman that it intends to bring a claim, but has not initiated court proceedings.
In a statement to the stock exchange, Mainfreight said any claim against the former owner must, in accordance with the purchase agreement, be brought by arbitration.
Mainfreight said if it commences arbitration proceedings against the former owner, it will make an announcement at that time.
