Retirement village operator Summerset says it is seeking to list on the Australian Stock Exchange.
The company now accounts for nearly eight percent of the NZX 50 Index.
At present it does not have any villages in Australia.
Chairman Rob Campbell says being listed on the ASX will allow more Australian investors to participate in the company's growth.
"We have had a lot of interest expressed from Australian investors - particularly Australian institutions - in investing in Summerset and for many of them if we're not listed in Australia it's outside their mandate."
