Energy Mad to benefit from US programme

7:05 am on 23 April 2013

Christchurch lightbulb maker Energy Mad says increased efforts to reduce electricity use in the United States will benefit its efficient lighting projects there.

A report funded by United States Government has predicted that spending on energy efficient programmes will double to $9.5 billion by 2025.

Energy Mad has already secured $1 million of funding for projects with 21 utilities through 1100 Walgreens stores.

That funding has allowed its light bulbs to be heavily discounted without impacting its margins.
