The state government in Western Australia says construction of an extension of a gas pipeline to Albany will begin in 2014.
The Dampier - Bunbury pipeline extension is expected to be completed by 2015, seven years after it was first promised.
Towns along the corridor include Manjimup, Donnybrook, Bridgetown and Mount Barker.
Premier Colin Barnett said expressions of interest will be sought from November. The ABC reports the state government will contribute about $A135 million, as well as a small ongoing subsidy.
