ANZ New Zealand says it has made no decision about whether to drop its National retail bank brand as yet, amid renewed speculation about the future of its black horse moniker.
The country's largest bank is updating staff on Wednesday afternoon about its simplification project, which includes merging the computer systems of its ANZ and National brands.
The new IT system is expected to be in operation at the end of October.
ANZ says there will be no change to the number of staff serving customers and it is committed to keeping branches open throughout the country.
Analysts expect ANZ will close branches that are near one another over time, resulting in job losses.
